Clients will learn how to handle the horses, explore horse behaviour, and learn to recognize and understand horse communication. These activities are professionally facilitated to adapt to the client’s specific needs, strengths, and personality. Learning is presented in many forms, to best maintain the client’s interest and engagement.
Examples of Activities:
· Groundwork
· Trick-training
· Games and obstacles
· Riding skills
· Grooming
· Stretching and breathing exercises
· Anatomy and health
· Horse communication
· Musical therapy including drumming
· Observation of herd dynamics and horse behaviour
All equine therapy sessions are facilitated one-to-one with a trained facilitator and take place in our barn, indoor arena or secure paddocks depending on the activity. Sessions can also include work with our other animals including goats, cats, chickens and guinea pigs. Each session will be different with set objectives to assist in clients meeting their own learning/ development goals.
